100 Cambridge Street, formerly known as the Leverett Saltonstall Building, is a fully renovated 22-story office tower and two-level underground parking facility. Included in MassDevelopment were the addition of 34,539 square feet of retail space, a 75-unit residential condominium complex housed in a new five-story structure at the base of the office tower, and Saltonstall Plaza on the western side of the property

In the Saltonstall Plaza, located at the rear of 100 Cambridge Street, is a designed waterfall feature, The Garden of Peace, a public memorial in honor of Commonwealth of Massachusetts victims of violent crimes, as well as new walkways named after old city streets that existed before the construction of Government Center, the relocated James Underwood Crocket public garden (formerly located in the old Saltonstall Plaza), and rededicated Presidential trees.

The building's electrical system is designed to provide six watts per square foot via bus ducts for the tenant electrical usages. The HVAC system consists of 1,600 tons of cooling capacity, 60 tons per floor or eight watts per square foot on all tenant floors. The supplemental cooling capacity per floor is 12 tons for dedicated 24/7 usage. New toilet rooms have been provided on all tenant floors with the hot water provided by electric storage type water heaters and withone unit servicing three floors. The building sprinkler system covers 100% of the property. Emergency power is available for emergency lighting, life safety systems, elevators, fire pump and other base building emergency requirements by a diesel fueled generator.

Security desks are located in Main Lobby and the South Plaza Lobby. These desks are occupied 24/7 by security officers who control access to the building and monitor the building security systems. Round-the-clock access is controlled by proximity card readers that provide security officers with individual occupant identification. The closed circuit security camera network provides real-time and recorded visualsthat are monitored by security personnel.
